Hi there

Well, saw the GP today, and my blood pressure is up to 170/80 (in spite of taking two tablets for it)which has upset me. He said that would account for the nose bleeds and light headedness. I'm to have lots of blood tests, and go back to see him in a fortnight. I don't think there's anything I can do myself to lower it, I don't smoke, am not overweight, don't use much salt and try and exercise. So it probably means talking another tablet or two.

Also I forgot to mention before, I've been having itches all over my body. I've had them before, but recently I've been getting them for days at a time. They're driving me mad! GP said that the statin I take to lower cholesterol can cause this, so I've to stop taking that for a fortnight and see if it improves.

So, I'm waiting now to have the blood tests and see what transpires. Life is never dull when you have RA!

The top reading may be higher then usual for you, but the bottom one is the one they "worry" about and that looks ok,(well pretty good actually!!!) and as you say is controllable with (more!!!!) tablets, hope you get sorted out very soon take care Lx

Hi Lyn,

Sorry about your BP, and I hope it will soon be under control for you. Hope the itching goes away too - with statins there seem to be all sorts of side effects that can happen. Could they perhaps give you a different one and see if that`s OK?

Take care,

Kathleen x

Hello Lyn,

Glad that you did see the GP so you now have a better idea as to what is wrong. At least the blood tests will show what treatment is necessary.

Hi Lyn

Pleased to hear that the doctor was able to help a little. Do hope the blood tests are conclusive and something can be sorted very quickly. Get well soon,

Lyn x
